It looks like fans will finally hear more about the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" as developer Square Enix is doubling down on the preparation for a big announcement about the highly anticipated title.

After the remaster's absence at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, much to the disappointment of many, Square Enix is almost ready to bring out the big guns.

"I believe that this year will still be a year of preparations for Final Fantasy VII Remake," producer Yoshinori Kitase told Famitsu via GameSpot back in January.

"I'd like to create a new kind of value for the hardware that is the PlayStation 4 for our next announcement," he went on to say to give fans an idea of what this "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" could be all about.

Seven months later this has yet to pan out, although director Tetsuya Nomura assured back in June that the development of the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is going smoothly.

"I know I haven't given any information in a while, but please rest assured that work is moving forward steadily," Nomura told Famitsu, acknowledging the drought.

"We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release... We plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it," he went on to say.

Two months later, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" news is still extremely difficult to come by. However, it seems that Square Enix is resolute in sharing a truckload of information so the wait will be worth it.

As to when this will exactly happen, there's no way of knowing for sure. For now, fans will have to hold on to Square Enix's promise. Whenever their big reveal will be, it will end with fans having broader knowledge about the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

That being said, it is safe to say that the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date will be revealed. Rumors suggest that a holiday launch is being planned for the remaster.
