'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2: Alycia Debnam-Carey talks character Alicia

Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia in "Fear The Walking Dead" AMC

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will premiere a couple of months from now but details about what's to come in the new season have been scarce. Thankfully, cast members of the spinoff muse over the series every now and then to whet fans' appetite.

In a sit-down interview with Collider, Alycia Debnam-Carey talked about her character Alicia, who she said "is a lot closer to a regular person." Being that way, the star believes that this allows Alicia to get "a little bit more of a fluid stream of consciousness about it."

For the uninitiated, Debnam-Carey also stars in the CW post-apocalyptic series "The 100" as 12 Clans commander Lexa. During the interview, the actress shared the experience of playing Lexa and her "Fear the Walking Dead" character.

"She [Alicia] is a complex individual who's fighting her own battles, but it was very different having to go from Lexa to evaluating what a normal teenager is," Debnam-Carey explained.

Things will be very difficult for Alicia in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2. As an achiever, she already had her life planned before her with big dreams all in place. Her bright future turned to dust when the zombie epidemic plagued her hometown.

As the world turns cruel, fans can expect Alicia to no longer be as normal of a teenager as she once was. In fact, nothing about her life or anybody else's that saw the outbreak firsthand will ever be normal.

In "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2, Alicia will attempt to grasp the brutal fact that everything she has dreamt of has become impossible while saving herself and what's left of her family from getting eaten or infected by the walkers.

The new season of "The Walking Dead" spinoff will be mostly set in the seas. In the season one finale, fans will remember that Victor Strand offered his yacht to the residents hoping to get as far away from the plagued city as possible.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 12 has 15 episodes and will premiere on Apr. 10.
