'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2: Nick and Alica's fight for survival continues

 AMC

A new character will be introduced when "Fear the Walking Dead" returns for season 2.

Deadline recently revealed that "It Follows" star Daniel Zovatto will join the cast of "The Walking Dead" companion series, who include Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, Frank Dillane as Nick Clark, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris Manawa, and Colman Domingo as Victor Strand, among others.

However, there are no details yet regarding Zovatto's role in the series.

Meanwhile, speculations about the second season of "Fear the Walking Dead" offered several theories about the upcoming episodes of the post-apocalyptic series.

According to an article from Melty, the first few episodes of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 could possibly focus on Nick's possible struggle to stay drug-free on their escape yacht. In the first season, fans of the show saw that Nick was deeply hooked on illegal substances, which is why his family and friends never believed him when he first told them about the zombie invasion.

But now that Nick, his mom Madison and sister Alicia, as well as his mom's boyfriend Nick and his son Chris are staying with a group of other survivors on a yacht to escape the zombies that roam Los Angeles, fans will see how the rebel child could survive the days without using illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, Debnam-Carey recently talked with Collider to describe the difference between her roles as Alicia in "Fear the Walking Dead" and Lexa in "The 100."

"Alicia is a lot closer to a regular person, so it's nice to have a little bit more of a fluid stream of consciousness about it," the actress explained. "She's a complex individual who's fighting her own battles, but it was very different having to go from Lexa to evaluating what a normal teenager is. But, I never saw Lexa as a teenager. I never even gave her an age, really. It's almost like she skipped that period."

Will Nick and Alicia manage to survive the events in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2?

The season premieres on Sunday, April 10, on AMC.
