Fans of the original post-apocalyptic show "The Walking Dead" are now starting to get more information about its upcoming companion series, "Fear The Walking Dead."

It has been earlier reported that the spinoff is set during the start of the zombie epidemic in Los Angeles. But new details are already shedding light on how the show will tie up with the zombie-centric world of "TWD."

Series executive producer and "The Walking Dead" comic books creator Robert Kirkman shared several details about "Fear The Walking Dead" in his latest interview with the Entertainment Weekly. According to Kirkman, both shows happen in the same universe.

"These two shows are very intertwined in the same world, even if their characters aren't necessarily going to interact because of geographical distances. So yeah, anything that you learn from Fear the Walking Dead will apply to the mythology of The Walking Dead and vice versa," the writer/ producer shared.

Past spoilers claim that the events in "Fear The Walking Dead" happen while "The Walking Dead's" main leader Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is in a coma state, shown in the first season of the original series. However, the spin-off will eventually catch up with the timeline of "The Walking Dead" at some point.

Meanwhile, a series of new teaser photos for the companion series are giving more information about some of the main characters of the upcoming show.

Early this month, Den of Geek posted several photos from the set of the soon-to-be released AMC show. Two of them showed Alycia Debman-Carey's character Alicia. One of the pictures shows her walking away from someone with a concerned look in her eyes, while the other one shows her more relaxed side as she spends a tender moment with her boyfriend Matt (Maestro Harrell).

Kirkman earlier described Alicia as the usual teenage girl who gets good grades in school. She is very independent and self-sufficient, and can easily be considered as a model student and ideal daughter. Alicia is preparing for her way to college when the apocalypse begins.

Debnam-Carey will be joined by Frank Dillane as Alicia's brother Nick, Kim Dickens as the twins' mother Alison, and Cliff Curtis as Madison's new love Cliff Curtis.

"Fear The Walking Dead" will premiere on AMC sometime in August.
