'Fast and Furious 8' release date, cast news: The Rock teases what Agent Hobbs needs to do

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been giving his best efforts to prepare himself for the filming of "Fast and Furious 8," where he will reprise his role as Agent Luke Hobbs.

The actor is consistently training to transform himself into a beast of an agent and a force to be reckoned with for the film. On his Instagram, he revealed what fans can expect from Hobbs in the next "Fast and Furious" movie.

Johnson revealed that he has been chatting with "Fast and Furious 8" director F. Gary Gray in preparation for the film. He discovered through these conversations that Hobbs was "hired to do three things," which are "raise the bar, dominate and destroy... and chew bubble gum."

Talking about his "fourth rodeo" as Hobbs in "Fast & Furious 8," The Rock stated that his character ought to continue to evolve. He envisions the enemy-turned-ally to be "badass, focused, bounty hunter mentality and above all else – funny [but] in a winking way for the audience to enjoy," which should make for exciting, entertaining and action-packed scenes.

"If there's no character growth, then it's over. And it ain't ever over 'til Hobbs says it's over," Johnson continued, promising to give his best to "deliver the goods."

The Rock also revealed that it is a bit tricky trying to get into a bigger shape with the final leg of "Baywatch" production still requiring him to be a bit smaller than his character in "Fast and Furious 8."

The Rock plays the role of Mitch Buchannon in the action-comedy reboot. Filming for it should be over soon and he still has to wait for 18 days before he steps in to the "Fast and Furious 8" production.

Filming for the highly-anticipated movie has already started in Cuba with cast members Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez already there.

Observing Fast Fridays, a special event where the cast and crew of "Fast and Furious 8" share updates on the filming, a new behind-the-scenes look was released showing the team talking about their experience in the country.

"Fast and Furious 8" will be released April 14, 2017.
