After Bethesda announced that Sony Interactive will not allow mods on PlayStation 4, it seems like the game studio still plans to release some kind of "Fallout 4" mod support.
On Twitter, Bethesda's Vice President of PR and Marketing Pete Hines answered a fan asking why the mod support for "Fallout 4" on PlayStation 4 had been restricted. While Hines revealed that they cannot publicly reveal the details about what went wrong, the game studio would still want to get some form of mod support for the console in the future.
The game developer announced early this week that Sony will no longer approve any form of user modes on "Fallout 4" as well as "Skyrim Special Edition."
The press release on the studio's official website stated: "Like you, we are disappointed by Sony's decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available."
Those who play the 2015-released action role-playing video game using Xbox One are already enjoying the game's mod support since May. The mod support for PlayStation 4 was supposed to come out in June, but Bethesda reportedly revealed that they were experiencing several problems with the "Fallout 4" mods in the Sony console. It includes several memory and performance issues, sound issues, as well as PS4 mod storage limit.
However, it may still take a while before Bethesda could announce the return of PlayStation 4 mod support for "Fallout 4" in the future.
