MTV is making another history by introducing the very first intersex character portrayed by an intersex actor in "Faking It" season 3.

NewNowNext reported the introduction of the character named Raven, a youth advocate who will guide Lauren (Bailey De Young) establish herself within the intersex community in the upcoming episode titled "Jagged Little Heart." The character will be portrayed by Amanda Saenz.

Raven will be involved with Lauren in the episode when Amy (Rita Volk) opted to put her frustrations with her best friend-turned lover-turned-enemy Karma (Katie Stevens) into good use by making a documentary about Lauren's acceptance of her intersexuality.

Saenz expressed her joy upon working on the show in the report, saying: "Walking onto a studio set was perhaps one of the more surreal things that I've done in my life."

The member of the intersex advocacy group interAct also added, "I'm so excited that the intersex community is growing more and more visible, and that our movement is building momentum."

Prior to "Faking It," it is very rare to find a proper representation of the intersex community in media. This is why showrunner Carter Covington reportedly consulted with Saenz's group to make sure that they are doing the right and respectful portrayal of the role. "Being portrayed in an honest fashion is something that we have been fighting for for a long time," Saenz said.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will also reveal how Karma put up a band with Shane (Michael Willett). Will this filming of the documentary and the band practices further alienate Amy and Karma from each other?

In the previous episode, Karma confessed to Amy why she kissed her at the pool during episode 19 of season 2. "Maybe I kissed you in the pool because maybe a small part of me does want you to be in love with me. Because it feels good. I know, it's so selfish. I don't want to keep hurting you, Amy. But I don't know how to be your friend without hurting you," Karma confessed.

Will the confession help mend their friendship?

"Faking It" season 3 returns on MTV with episode 4 on Tuesday, April 5.
