'Evolve' Big Alpha test timeline gets an extension

After being forced to delay the testing for "Evolve" Big Alpha for PlayStation 4 because of several technical issues, 2K Games has extended playing time until Nov. 4.

The game publisher released a statement, saying:

"Alpha tests analyze and troubleshoot unfinished products. While internal testing shows the majority of PS4 matches are completed successfully, some players will encounter interruptions and issues affecting the Evolve experience. We ask for your patience and participation as we rigorously test Evolve to ensure a successful launch on February 10, 2015."

"Evolve's" Big Alpha for PlayStation 4 was supposed to be launched on Oct. 31 alongside the Xbox One and Windows versions that could have lasted all throughout the Halloween weekend, but it did not push through for the Sony console because the firmware v2.0 update was only released a few days before the game.

That is why the game developer decided to extend the Big Alpha testing timetable to make up for the delay. Instead of ending the test period on Nov. 2, 2K Games decided to let the game remain live until Nov. 4 at 12 p.m. PT.

The game test is extended to other platforms as well, including the Xbox One and Windows versions. Those who already have the "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" title on Steam can gain access to the ongoing "Evolve" Big Alpha test immediately.

"Evolve" is an upcoming cooperative/competitive shooter game that deals with a group of four human hunters who have to cooperate with each other to defeat an alien monster. The group needs to slay the monster before it gets the chance to evolve to become a stage 3 killing machine.

Supposedly, "Evolve" was to be released internationally on Oct. 21, 2014, yet game developer Turtle Rock Studios and 2K Games decided to hold it off until Feb. 10, 2015 to fine-tune all the game details a little further.
