The feud between the Lyon and Dubois families reaches a new level in the upcoming episode of "Empire" season 3.

Titled "Absent Child," next week's episode will see the conflict between the two families get even worse. According to the official synopsis, the Lyons believe that the Dubois family has something to do with their latest crisis. No one wants to give up any information about the issue, so Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) decides to do her own investigation and find answers.

Meanwhile, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Lucious (Terrence Howard) reach a new milestone in a song, making Andre (Trai Byers) jealous of their relationship. Also, Cookie comes up with a new plan for the development of Empire in Las Vegas. Rapper Fetty Wap is appearing as guest in the episode.

FOX has recently released a new sneak peek for the episode and it opens with Lucious having a serious conversation with Cookie. "We gotta come together," the Lyon matriarch said. The search for baby Bella continues and Thirsty (Andre Royo) thinks the Dubois family is behind her disappearance.

The Lyons arrange a meeting with Angelo (Taye Diggs) and Diana (Phylicia Rashad) to talk about their issues with each other, but the discussion did not end well. Toward the end of the clip, Angelo is seen tied to a chair as Cookie and her bodyguards look on. It looks like Cookie is willing to resort to extreme measures just to get information from her ex-boyfriend and get her granddaughter back.

In a recent interview with TV Line, showrunner Ilene Chaiken teased that Diana will be doing everything to bring Cookie down. "Cookie fulfilled her worst fears. Diana is an ambitious mother," Chaiken said. "She worked long and hard on behalf of her son. She's not going to take lightly that Cookie just destroyed years of planning and ambition. And she is going to deliver [retribution] in a very big way."

The Dubois family is clearly waging war against the Lyons, and only one family can win. Who will claim the victory in the end?

"Empire" season 3 airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on FOX.
