The explosive first season finale of Fox's "Empire" is still widely talked about, but fans of the show are already speculating on what is in store for the Lyon family in season 2.

Executive producer Ilene Chaiken recently spilled several details about the sophomore season in several interviews, saying that there a lot of things to look forward to when the hit musical drama returns. Chaiken talked about Lucious Lyon's (Terrence Howard) jail time during the end of season 1, and how it will affect his family and his multi-million entertainment business in season 2.

"Lucious will always be central to the story no matter where he is. Beyond that, we're not there yet. We'll figure out whether Lucious is in or out of prison or in and out of prison, and how he will be integral to these storylines," the executive producer told E! News

Even Lucious himself prophesized about his fiery comeback in season 2 before the first one even concluded.

In one of the voice-overs during the final episode, Lucious said, "You may think you've gotten away with it, don't fool yourself this is only the beginning. The day will come when Lucious Lyon will return. Game time, bi***es."

The executive producer also talked about the possibility of adding more episodes next season in her interview with Variety, after speculations surfaced that the network is asking for a longer season.

"The decision is Fox's to make. They love the show as much as we do. Whatever decision they make I will believe in. And we will be everything that 'Empire' is in now in season two," Chaiken explained.

She is also confident that the network will not ask them to do something that they cannot do.

Fans are also expecting to see how Jamal's (Jussie Smollett) takeover of Empire Entertainment will play out, after his brothers Andre (Trai Byers) and Hakeen (Bryshere Y. Gray) expressed their disappointment when their father chose him to lead the business following his arrest. Can they manage to overthrow him with the help of their mom Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious' ex-fiancée Anika (Grace Gealey)?
