The challenges in the lives of the Lyons continue in the next episode of "Empire" season 2.

In the midseason premiere, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) was named the new CEO of Empire Entertainment after Camilla (Naomi Campbell) booted his father Lucious (Terrence Howard) out as the head of his company. But Lucious and the rest of the family will try everything that they can to bring Hakeem back to their side.

However, the synopsis reveals that Hakeem has a plan of his own to continue running Empire on his own terms. According to the synopsis, "With Hakeem acting as Empire's CEO, Camilla sinks her claws further and further into him. The rest of the Lyon family tries to get him to rejoin their side, but Hakeem has his own plan. Meanwhile, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) receives backlash from his fans and Andre (Trai Byers) and Rhonda's (Kaitlin Doubleday) marriage is tested."

Based on the trailer for the episode titled "A Rose by Any Other Name," Hakeem's plans include filming a sex tape with Camilla, and he consults his mother Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) about it.

However, things may not seem to be always in the youngest Lyon's favor since his plans could get sidetracked by the possible pregnancy of Anika (Grace Gealey) as the result of their occasional trysts. This could compromise his blossoming relationship with Laura (Jamila Velazquez).

Meanwhile, Jamal will have problems of his own after Jameson Henthrop (William Fichtner) decided to stop working with him when Lucious squealed that he kissed a girl. This could also have an effect on his fans.

Also, Andre and Rhonda's marriage will be on the rocks as they deal with the death of their unborn child. Based on the trailer, Andre will be deeply hurt and even accuse his wife of cheating on him. Is he just being paranoid or do his accusations have some basis?

"Empire" season 2 episode 12 airs Wednesday, April 6, on Fox.
