The Lyon cubs are in danger, and only Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) can save them.
Lucious and Cookie may not always agree with each other, but they always try their best to work together for the sake of their sons. For the upcoming episode, which comes after "Empire" took a break last week for the 2015 World Series, the former husband and wife will do everything they can to save their children from their current predicaments.
Based on the promo trailer for the episode titled "A High Hope for a Low Heaven," Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will do everything to prove his worth as a musician. This prompts him to head back to the studio to work on his music, and none other than his father Lucious is there to help him improve his craft. The middle Lyon child also gets tips from his mother Cookie, who tells him that he can feel things when it is real.
The trailer also shows Andre's (Trai Byers) struggles with the new responsibility given by their father. It seems like the eldest Lyon offspring is having problems with the task, which is why Lucious reminds him why he gave him that responsibility.
But perhaps the biggest challenge for Lucious and Cookie in the upcoming episode is finding out where the kidnappers took Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) and bringing him back to safety. In the episode before the hiatus, the youngest Lyon was abducted by masked men while he was running in the park.
According to the trailer, Cookie will finally learn about the abduction and will immediately seek Lucious's help to save their son.
In a sneak peek released by FOX, actress Henson describes the relationship shared by her character Cookie and Howard's Lucious, saying:
"The thing about this dysfunctional relationship that Cookie and Lucious have, is as much as they don't like each other, when it comes to their children they are going to come together."
