'Elder Scrolls 6' release date rumors: Game rumored to launch this year; Bethesda to announce it at E3 in June?

Will "Elder Scrolls 6" be out this year? Bethesda

"Elder Scrolls 6" is rumored to be made official by developer Bethesda at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in June. The game studio will be participating in the affair and is said to be preparing intensely for it.

This had many thinking that the next "Elder Scrolls" iteration will be the star of the show. This would also mean that the game should be released shortly after. For those who are not in the know, Bethesda has expressed its desire to shorten the amount of time between game announcements and releases.

"Fallout 4" was announced during last year's E3, which surprised fans and effectively created a massive hype around the game that translated to a stellar sales performance when the game was released last November. It could be that Bethesda is using the same strategy with "Elder Scrolls 6."

In the event the new "Elder Scrolls" installment will be made official at the upcoming E3 event, it won't be a long shot seeing it hit the market as early as November this year in an attempt to replicate the success of "Fallout 4."

Bethesda has always been tight-lipped about "Elder Scrolls 6" and whether or not it will be seen in the flesh someday. The only thing guaranteed is that Bethesda is busy working on new titles.

Just recently, the game studio's director Todd Howard revealed what's keeping them busy, while still being coy and careful not to give away too much information.

"We actually have three kind of longer term projects we're doing that are all -- we'll talk about them at a future date -- but they're different than anything we've done before, while also being a Bethesda-style game," Howard explained, as quoted by VG247.

"Big and crazy, but in many ways different than things we've done before. It's an exciting time," he added. There's no telling if "Elder Scrolls 6" is one of those titles. Either way, fans hope that the "Elder Scrolls" game they have been clamoring for will arrive soon.

Looking at the release pattern, it seems that Bethesda waits for five years to release a new offering. "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" was released in 2011, which means that the year for a new "Elder Scrolls" title has come.
