When "Counting On" star Josiah Duggar ended his courtship with Marjorie Jackson back in 2015, fans did not know why they decided to part ways. Did they not get along? Did someone have a change of heart?

Some Duggar fans now suspect it was because Jackson was only using Josiah for fame. To recall, 2015 was also the same year Josiah's older brother Josh was implicated with two scandals - the first one involved the molestation of several underage girls, including Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald. The second one involved his infidelity in marriage.

Because of the bad publicity, Redditors believe Jackson dropped Josiah like a hot potato. "It's a widely spread belief that Marjorie was more into the fame than she was into Josiah, but what if it wasn't the fame she was after? What if she wanted a slice of that sweet, sweet TLC pie, but split as soon as she found out that Josiah would likely never see a cent of it?" one netizen asked.

"'Would you like to enter a courtship?' 'Yes, I'd be happy to.' [side hug] 'Just letting you know I don't get any money from the show, Dad takes it all.' 'Oh, then I guess I can't court if you're broke, it's over,'" one fan sarcastically wrote.

"She wanted fame and was using Josiah to get it," another added. "She was all in until the Josh scandal hit. They lost [19 Kids and Counting] when they began courting. Showed her true colors and its obvious she was a user."

Josiah is now engaged to Lauren Swanson after a whirlwind courtship. He announced his courtship with Swanson back in January 23, and after just a month, they announced their engagement.

"This is an exciting, big step in our lives, and the whole thing was very meaningful," Josiah told Us Weekly. "It'll take a lot of planning since we have big families on both sides, but we're very excited to get started and so thankful for how God has brought our lives together."
