Square Enix released a statement to correct earlier reports about the company's alleged plans to release two games for the upcoming Nintendo NX game console.

According to the recent statement of the Tokyo-based video game company, the release of "Dragon Quest X" and "Dragon Quest XI" for Nintendo's next-generation video game console is only under consideration, and they still have no further details to share at this point.

"Dragon Quest X" could be a reboot version of the 2014-released massively multiplayer online role-playing game that comes with the legendary 2D sprite and top-down 3D options, while the "Dragon Quest 11" is an upcoming open-world RPG that was built using the Unreal Engine 4.

Rumors about the first two game titles for Nintendo NX began to spread when Square Enix mentioned on its recent live stream conference that the two new installments from the "Dragon Quest" series will be developed for the still unreleased game console alongside the Nintendo 3DS and Sony's PlayStation 4. However, no further details about the Nintendo NX editions of "Dragon Quest X" and "Dragon Quest XI" were discussed after it was mentioned in passing.

Nintendo first revealed its plans to release a new game console back in March, and said that it will be a "brand-new concept." But the company refused to divulge more information until its release in 2016.

"Though I cannot confirm when it will be launched or any other details of the system, since I have athat we do not intend it to become a simple 'replacement' for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U," Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said during the company's earnings report back in May as reported by GameSpot.

Iwata also reiterated that the actual details for the platform are still unavailable at that time, saying that the company "would like to offer to them 'a dedicated video game platform with a brand new concept' by taking into consideration various factors, including the playing environments that differ by country."

More details about the Nintendo NX are expected to come out soon.
