'Downton Abbey' season 6 spoilers: Final episode not yet written

Avid fans know that "Downton Abbey" season 6 will be the last for the series, but it seems no one, not even series creator Julian Fellowes and lead star Hugh Bonneville, has an idea how the series will end.

During the panel for the show at the Writers Guild Theater Saturday, Bonneville revealed that he still has not received the script for the show's final episode.

"I haven't read the series finale," the actor who portrays the role of Lord Grantham said.

Fellowes cut in his statement, saying that he still has not written the script for the last episode in the series.

Currently, the popular British period drama is already in the middle of its six-month shoot. The show is expected to air in the U.K. this fall through ITV, while PBS will bring the show to the U.S. early next year.

According to Bonneville, the fact that the show will be airing its final episode has not sunk in yet.

"I think it will really start having an impact when we film the last scene in the dining room or the last scene in the library or whatever, and we'll check that off the list," the actor shared.

But while the actor could not provide any spoilers, Fellowes decided to share more details about the soon-to-be released "Downton Abbey" season 6.

"I like older characters to have emotional lives, because I think it's truthful," the series creator shared. "In movieland, everyone stops being a sexual creature at about 32, or at least the women do. The men are allowed to keep going until they are 78 — I've never worked that out. In my world, on the whole older people have emotions like everybody else, and I think the show demonstrates that."

Does this mean that the sixth season will be focusing more on Lady Violet (Maggie Smith) and Lady Isobel (Penelope Wilton), as well as the romance between Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan) and Mr. Carson (Jim Carter)?

The British release of "Downton Abbey" season 6 will conclude on Christmas Day this year.
