Season 8 of Doctor Who, one of the most awarded television programs from BBC, will soon begin airing in the small screen, and fans cannot contain their excitement any longer.

The latest season teases television viewers with the 'All New! All Different!' promise, creating the idea that it will be the most radical beginning since the long-running show was rebooted back in 2005.

Here is what Doctor Who fans need to know before the latest season begins.

First, devoted followers of the show will have to welcome Peter Capaldi as the latest Doctor Who. As the twelfth incarnation of this well-loved British TV character, Capaldi has a huge shoe to fill after fan-favorite Matt Smith departed from the show.

Steven Moffat, the show's executive producer, expressed his faith about Capaldi's capabilities of playing the important role of the Doctor.

"He has a tremendous ability with throwaway humour and a lot of it is around the fact that sometimes he is terribly rude," Moffat said. ''I think kids will think he is the rude Doctor. You might want to cuddle him but he really will resist."

The 56-year-old actor will work with Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald this season.

On the other hand, rumors state that the season will concentrate more on the adventures of the Time Lord in the Victorian London era spread after BBC released the latest trailer for the first episode this season called "Deep Breath."

The episode synopsis reads:

"When the Doctor arrives in Victorian London he finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions. Who is the new Doctor and will Clara's friendship survive as they embark on a terrifying mission into the heart of an alien conspiracy? The Doctor has changed. It's time you knew him."

Doctor Who Season 8 will debut globally on Saturday, August 23. Watch the trailer for the Deep Breath episode below:
