"Dissidia Final Fantasy" will soon be found in arcades, Square Enix announced during the Japanese Amusement Expo over the weekend.

The PSP-exclusive fighting game that was released as part of the 20th anniversary of the "Final Fantasy" series will now be featured in arcade mode. The new arcade version is the first update in the "Dissidia" series in the last four years. Its last installment was "Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy," which came out in 2011.

"Dissidia Final Fantasy" is a fighting game with action RPG elements that features several characters from different installments of the "Final Fantasy" series. It concentrates on the eternal conflict between the goddess of harmony named Cosmos and the god of discord called Chaos. Both god and goddess call on several warriors to defend them during their ongoing 13th war.

During the announcement, a trailer for the game was also released by the game developer. The video trailer showed three-on-three battles that boast all the game's improvements. The trailer also showed several returning characters from the series' previous two installments, including The Warrior of Light based on the first "Final Fantasy" installment, Lightning from the "Final Fantasy XIII" trilogy, "Final Fantasy VII's" Cloud Strife, as well as Y'shtola from "Final Fantasy XIV."

In addition, the gameplay seen in the trailer appeared to be somewhat similar to the original version of "Dissidia Final Fantasy," which is a combination of close combat and magic spells that help the players to win the battles.

"Dissidia" was originally created by director Tetsuya Nomura from the "Kingdom Hearts" series. Nomura initially planned to make a spin-off for the franchise, but he later on changed his mind and made another best-selling series in "Final Fantasy."

However, the arcade release of the new "Dissidia Final Fantasy" will only be available in the Japanese market. But there are rumors claiming that it will also be released in other consoles in the future.
