Bungie has decided to dole out early treats for "Destiny" players by offering several free contents for the game whether they choose to buy the "The Dark Below" expansion pack or not, according to their weekly blog updates.

Based on the blog, the game developer promises to provide new weapons and armors for all "Destiny" players even if they do not purchase the expansion pack, as well as daily bounties and five added bounty slots from "The Dark Below" sometime in December.

For those who plan to purchase the expansion pack, they could enjoy a slew of interesting contents including:

  • 3 story missions that feature new foes and encounters that can be seen in the Cosmodrome and Moon locations.
  • Introduction of a new Tower character and vendor called Eris, which features brand-new quests, bounties, as well as new rewards.
  • Special legendary weapons and armor
  • Brand new exotic weapons
  • The Will of Crota strike
  • The Crota's End raid
  • 3 Crucible maps, namely Pantheon, Skyshock, as well as The Cauldron
  • Maximum Light Level increase up to 32

The blog also discussed the premise of the DLC pack. According to the post, "The Dark Below" centers on The Hive calling for their dark god named Crota.  The story missions in the expansion pack will bring players into unchartered spaces that offer never-before-seen encounters.

"The storyline of the Dark Below kicks off with the return of Eris to the Tower, bearing a grim warning about the rise of Crota. Eris is a new character that appears in the Tower to serve as your guide. She has her own story to tell, and serves as the primary narrator for the Story missions. She offers her own reputation stream, unique weapon and armor rewards, as well as other item rewards for Guardians who earn her favor," the update explained.

"The Dark Below" can be purchased for $20 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles beginning Dec. 9. The new contents from the expansion pack can also be obtained from the content pass worth $35.
