'Destiny' 2.0 update to bring exotic weapon fixes

Game developer Bungie is preparing to release the 2.0 update for "Destiny" to address some of the most noticeable issues in the game as well as to provide several improvements in the game's weapons. The announcement came from Sandbox designer Jon Weisnewski, who discussed the details regarding the upcoming update.

According to Weisnewski, they initially planned to release fixes for some of the issues that gamers experience while playing the popular first-person shooter game. However, they decided not to push through with that plan since choosing which fixes players would want to be released first would be very difficult and risky. Also, he said that the "changes are all very dependent upon each other to be successful"; thus, the company just decided to release the fixes all at once.

Some of the most remarkable changes to be brought by the upcoming "Destiny" 2.0 update include the lowered base stats for some of the game's weapons. The base weapon changes that come with the update consist of:

  • Auto Rifles – Since the Destiny 1.1.1 update came out, the Auto Rifles have been included in the list of items that need to be reevaluated. When the Destiny 2.0 update is released, the weapon will have a 10 percent increase in its base damage that has a faster falloff even if the weapon's goals remain the same. It will also have a slightly lowered base stability.

  • Pulse Rifles – The game developer lessened the base damage of the medium Rate of Fire by as much as 2.5 percent. It also has a minimum reduction in is base stability, as well as an increased magazine size for all base inventory stats.
  • Scout Rifles – These will soon have an increased base damage for medium to high rate of RoF scout rifless, as well as a bigger magazine size for all of its base inventory stats. Its boost damage against AI combatants will see an increase by as much as 5 percent, as well as a lessened Final Accuracy when shooting fires from the hip.

The upcoming "Destiny" 2.0 update, which will reportedly go live before the release of the "Destiny: The Taken King" DLC in September, will also feature exotic weapon tuning for Hard Light, Necrochasm, The Last Word, Thorn, Hawkmoon, Ice Breaker, No Land Beyond, Black Hammer, Lord of Wolves, as well as Gjallarhorn. Its other contents can be found on the official Bungie website.
