Descendants of the Sun season 2 spoilers: show is back with a bang with both love and heartbreak among the plot highlights

The fans of the megahit, super successful Korean drama series "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2, abbreviated DoTS, have been waiting impatiently for updates regarding its upcoming sequel which is expected to premiere in the coming year, 2017.

Although it has been teased, and it was quite expected, that the previous star cast of Song Joong Ki] (Yoo Si-jin), Song Hye-kyo (Kang Mo-yeon), Jin Goo (Seo Dae-young) and Kim Ji-won (Yoon Myeong-ju) will reprise their previous respective roles, nothing has been confirmed yet by the banner of KBS.

In April, network department head Jung Sung Ho announced their plans to have the highly anticipated sequel of K-Drama "Descendants of the Sun" enjoyed positive turnout when it aired in the first quarter of the year. So the crew decided to release the second season as way of thanking the fans for the highest ratings they provided.

The love story of Captain of a South Korean Special Forces unit and Dr. Kang Mo-yeon and at the same time, the show Dae-young and Myeong-ju's ,Was a hit not only in Asia but Its popularity quickly spread to other countries of the globe. As the show returns, fans are hoping to see more of their favourite couples.

As the spoilers reveal, it is assumed that the show will be introducing a new Storyline, shifting the focus entirely and not follow the events happened in Season 1, As Jung shared that they have yet to discuss the storyline for the sequel, if it will be story of a soldier or not.

The show that contributed to the Hallyu wave had an open ending in the last installment, The entire team came up and saved everyone's life from the volcanic eruption.

Other popular discussions for the second season of DoTS suggest that it is supposed to feature the wedding of Si-jin and Mo-yeon, popularly known as Song-Song couple.
