'Days of Our Lives' spoilers: Jen Lilley on Theresa's return and 'Brave' pairing

Theresa and Brady with baby Tate in "Days of Our Lives" NBC

Fans will not be seeing Theresa Donovan on "Days of Our Lives" again until this summer, but Jen Lilley, who portrays the character, gave a little tease to at least relieve everyone from the long wait.

As recalled, things were going smoothly for her before she left Salem. She and Brady (Eric Martsolf) were set to tie the knot while raising their little boy, Tate. Things went awry, though, when Mateo (Andoni Gracia) came back to her life with a threat to her family. To keep the boys safe, she eventually agreed to the drug lord's demands and flew to Mexico.

After that agonizing separation, Theresa is finally coming back, but Brady may not welcome her with open arms. Not only did she break his heart, her return comes at a time when the man appears to be getting closer with Eve (Kassie DePaiva) as well. While many fans do not like the idea of the two as a couple, Lilley teases Brady and Eve's unlikely pairing, also known as "Brave," is just going to make her return more powerful and exciting.

Speaking to Soap Hub, the actress said: "Ron said that's why he put them together because [he was hoping] I would come back to the show." It remains to be seen how things pan out for Eve and Brady, but as far as working with them is concerned, Lilley has nothing but praises for her fellow actors.

"Kassie [DePaiva, Eve] and Eric are two of my favorite people on the planet and are also, dare I say it, even better co-stars," the actress admitted. "They are powerhouse performers. When I act with them it's so easy for me to cry. I stayed in touch with them while I was not on the show. We're friends both on and off set."

"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays at 1 p.m. on NBC.
