Hit sci-fi comedy anime "Date A Live" is reportedly returning with a third season.

Set in a kooky world filled with spirits and strange calamities, "Date A Live" takes place after a spacequake devastates East Asia and killed more than a 100 million people. Despite the craziness of the premise, the first anime follows highschool student Shidou Itsuka and his little sister.

Shidou saves his sister from a strange blast, and in the process, finds a mysterious girl who, by some twist of fate, is linked to the spirits and the calamities. Before Shidou can get seriously injured, his sister reverses the situation and saves him, revealing she's part of anti-spirit organization.

The second season of the anime has Shidou run into different spirits. He also realizes that he has the power to help seal them away. Life becomes a crazy adventure.

While a third season of "Date A Live" has already been confirmed, not much else has been stated about the upcoming season and information regarding the characters and the upcoming plotlines are limited.

The third season was announced at the Fantasia Bunko Festival 2017 and the footage was uploaded to YouTube on Oct. 25, 2017. Nearly two minutes long, the video showed footage of "Date A Live's" third and upcoming season being revealed in front of a group of festival attendees.

Not much was said about the anime's third season aside from the actual reveal. Despite the limited information provided, however, anime fans took to Reddit to discuss the video.

Despite the wait, a handful of the fans are still excited about season three.

"Date A Live" was originally based on a light novel series. The series was written by Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako. It was eventually picked up by Production IMS and given an anime series adaptation. The first season aired in 2013 while the second season aired in 2015.

It is uncertain when the third season will reach its completion.
