Scavengers Studio, the developer and publisher of "Darwin Project," announced that the "Hunger Games"-style battle royal game is scheduled to launch its Steam Early Access on March 9.

Jessica "Snowfreckles" Beaudoin, the Communications Manager at Scavengers Studio, announced the news on March 2.

According to the Steam page of the game, "Darwin Project" is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape in the Northern Canadian Rockies. In preparation for the upcoming Ice Age, a half science experiment and half live entertainment new project called "Darwin Project" was launched. This new program challenges 10 participants to endure the cold and fight each other for survival.

The game features manhunt and survival, the Show Director as well as live spectator interactions. In manhunt and survival, players must track the position of the other participants with aid of the environmental clues they left behind, using creative traps to beat them. Moreover, as mentioned earlier, players must take measures to survive the cold or they will freeze to death. "Darwin Project" introduces the Show Director which is the host of the project as well as the master who has the ability to control the arena with nuclear bombs, zone closures, gravity storms and the power of their voice. In addition, Steam viewers can also bet live on who among the participants they think will win the project while helping the Show Director in choosing which contestant deserves a helping hand or in choosing the zone where the Show Director should send terrible bombs or storms.

The Steam page of the game also included the list of the minimum and recommended system requirements for the game. The minimum system requirements include the following — operating system (OS): Windows 7 and above; processor: Dual Core 2.4Ghz+; memory: 4 GB RAM; graphics: GTX 750, GTX 660; DirectX: Version 10; network: broadband internet connection and storage: 6 GB available space. The recommended system requirements, on the other hand, are as follows — OS: Windows 7 and above; processor: Quad Core 2.4Ghz+; memory: 8 GB RAM; graphics: GTX 970, GTX 1060; DirectX: Version 11; network: broadband internet connection; storage: 6 GB available space and a microphone.

The Steam Early Access of "Darwin Project" will retail at $14.99.
