'Daredevil' season 3 release date news: New season delayed to 2017?

"Daredevil" season 3 is not happening anytime soon. Netflix

Updates regarding "Daredevil" season 3 have been difficult to come by, making fans doubt that it will be renewed by streaming giant Netflix.

Both the first and second season of "Daredevil" are so incredibly great that fans just knew "Daredevil" season 3 is coming. However, it has already been quite a while, but Netflix is still silent about the show.

The latest reports claim that "Daredevil" season 3 has to be put off first to focus on the "Defenders" miniseries, where the Man without Fear played by Charlie Cox will appear.

It can be remembered how fast Netflix green-lit "Daredevil" season 2 following the huge success of the first season. However, "Daredevil" season 3 is not getting that lightning fast renewal fans would have hoped.

Fans have been waiting for almost four months for "Daredevil" season 3 to be made official. Netflix has its varying timings when it comes to renewals, so it might take a while before it gives its thumbs up for the show.

At the moment, it appears that the streaming company's priority is "Defenders," which is expected to premiere early next year. Preparation for it is well underway so the production will likely begin soon.

While Cox himself is not sure if "Daredevil" season 3 will happen, he still thinks that the show will need to feature his character's well-known nemesis in the comic book world – Bullseye.

There have been tons of speculations about the iconic character's arrival. One is that actor Jason Statham was allegedly in negotiations with Netflix and Marvel to bring Bullseye to life.

However, this rumor has since been debunked. Nevertheless, it was speculated that the show plans to bring the sharp shooter as Matt Murdock's next adversary.

While "Daredevil" season 3 is still expected to happen, fans will have to wait a while before they finally see it in all its glory.
