More names have been confirmed as the big cast reveal for "Dancing with the Stars" season 23 draws near.

US Weekly confirmed that rapper Vanilla Ice will be one of the celebrity contestants on ABC's long-running dance show. According to the report, the 48-year-old "Ice, Ice Baby" rapper agreed to compete for the famed Mirror Ball trophy with the rest of the new roster of celebrities for the upcoming season.

Vanilla Ice is not new to the reality competition scene, since he already appeared in UK's "Dancing on Ice" season 6 with pro skater Katie Stainsby. He was eliminated during the show's sixth round.

Aside from the rapper, PEOPLE revealed that controversial Olympian Ryan Lochte will also be a part of the show, together with another Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez.

Other stars who will join the competition for season 23 include model Amber Rose, singer-songwriter Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, former child actor Jake T. Austin, actress Maureen McCormick, soap opera star Emma Samms, and "Little Women: LA" star Terra Jole.

Executive producer Rob Wade explained how they chose the roster for each season in an interview with PEOPLE. According to Wade, the pro dancers were not selected to match the stars.

"Normally, we just have our pros and then once the cast is booked, we decide the pairings," Wade said. "I personally get bored with seeing the pros with the same types of people season after season. It is fun to tell a different type of story when you pair them with different people."

Meanwhile, E! News confirmed that Derek Hough will return to the set of "Dancing with the Stars" season 23. Hough also confirmed the news on Instagram, saying: "With my fall schedule freeing up I'm excited to say that I'll be back on Dancing with the Stars for Season 23. It's always great to be back with my DWTS family, coaching, creating and making lasting memories."

Derek's sister, Julianne Hough, is also reportedly in talks to return to "Dancing with the Stars" season 23 as well.

The full line-up of celebrity contestants for "Dancing With the Stars" season 23 will be revealed on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, Aug. 30, while the competition will officially begin on Sept. 12.
