The scorching hot premiere of "Dancing With the Stars" season 20 aired Monday, and it was certainly a fitting opening night for the hit reality dance show's 10th year anniversary. It gave the audience a taste of what the glittery new installment has for the next few months. And as the celebrities performed their first dance production numbers in the first episode, the fan favorites already emerged this early in the competition.
One of the pairs that the judges gave a favorable score last night was Rumer Willis and pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy. The pair, who performed the last dance for the night, earned the highest score of 32/40 for dancing the Foxtrot. "DWTS" resident judge Len Goodman told the pro dancer that season 20 could be his season, while his partner's A-list parents Bruce Willis and Demi Moore where cheering for Rumer in the audience.
Another favorite pair is the dream team made up of the five-time Olympic medalist Nastia Liukin and the one and only five-time Mirror Ball trophy pro winner Derek Hough. Also performing the Foxtrot, Liukin and Hough earned 30/40 points, and they are one of the pairs to beat this season.
Meanwhile, Derek and Julianne Hough's cousin Riker Lynch and his pro partner Allison Holker also got a favorable response from the fans and the judges alike. Their jive received a score of 31/40, which means that the dancing genes is clearly present in his blood. But will judge Julianne manage to pick who between her brother and her cousin (along with all the talented dancers) would be the mirror ball winner this season?
But out of all the pairs that danced in the "DWTS" ballroom last night, it was LMFAO singer Redfoo and Emma Slater who received the lowest score. Their fun-filled "Juicy Wiggle" cha-cha failed to impress the judges, prompting Goodman to comment to Redfoo that he danced like his hair, "which is a little wild and unkempt." Could this lead to the early exit of the pair next episode?
