The sixth season of "Dance Moms" will resume on TLC this September, but the series is rumored to be in danger of cancellation.

Speculations claim that the producers of the dance reality series are having a hard time finding new talents after some of its biggest stars bid farewell at the first half of season 6. Rumors claimed that the network is worried that the ratings of the show will drastically decline after lead dancer Maddie Ziegler left the show.

Maddie is not the only one who opted to quit "Dance Moms" and the Abby Lee Dance Company, since she was joined by her younger sister Mackenzie. Their co-star Chloe Lukasiak also announced her departure in season 4. Other rumors claimed that JoJo Siwa and Nia Sioux are also planning their exit from the show.

But according to reports, Maddie is being asked to return in season 7 to save "Dance Moms" from cancellation. She happens to be the favorite student of ALDC head coach Abby Lee Miller, as well as the show's most popular cast member.

However, it would be hard to bring back the 13-year-old dancer-actress in "Dance Moms," since she already signed on to different projects after the launching of her solo career. Maddie will be seen as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation," as well as make her film debut in the 2017 movie "The Book of Henry." She is also set to join Grammy Award-winning musician Sia in her tour this year.

Miller's legal problems could also hinder the possible return of "Dance Moms" season 7. According to reports, the feisty ALDC owner's bankruptcy fraud case is still ongoing, and she might have to serve jail time if proven guilty. This could prevent her from shooting new episodes for the next installment of the reality show.

TLC has yet to break their silence regarding the renewal or cancellation of "Dance Moms" season 7.
