Just when the "CSI" girls find a little time for rest and recreation, somebody decides to wreak havoc and have a shooting spree during a forensics conference that Julie Finly (Elisabeth Shue), Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) and Morgan Brody (Elisabeth Harnois) are attending.

The much-needed break of the hard-working "CSI" ladies have to be cut short after a mass shooter begins to take down people. The ladies immediately return to work to help the rest of the team who is pressed for time to solve the mass murders before the killer makes another fatal move that could hurt more people.

The episode titled "Girls Gone Wilder" will be aired on Nov. 2 on CBS.

Meanwhile, the cast and production team of one of the longest-running forensic drama series on television is also reported to be tackling another puzzling case, which happens to be the future of the entire show after this season.

According to reports, CBS reduced the number of ordered episodes this season, from the usual 22 down to 18. There are no mentioned official explanations for this development, but speculations indicate that the dwindling ratings could be blamed for the episode reduction for season 15. Other reports, however, claim that the network is only cutting down the number of episodes because of their inventory.

Could the shortened season lead to the impending end of the beloved forensic series on TV?  There are no confirmations about this speculation yet, but viewers and critics have mixed feelings about the show's future.

Some believe that the time has come for the LVPD forensics team to take on their last case, since the show has not been performing well in the ratings game for several seasons. There are also several weak episodes that were shown recently, which is inevitable for a show that has been running for the last 15 years. Some critics believe that it is high time for the mystery drama to pull its plug. However, CSI loyalists are hoping that the network will still bring back the show for more seasons.

CBS and CSI executive producers are still mum about the show's future until now.
