Things are not looking good for Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) in the upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds" season 11.

At the end of episode 17, titled "The Sandman," the supposedly romantic moment between Morgan and his pregnant fiancée Savannah Hayes (Rochelle Aytes) was suddenly interrupted when an unidentified person began shooting at them.

While the episode did not reveal who between the couple was shot, the trailer for the episode titled "A Beautiful Disaster" implies that Savannah's and their unborn child's lives are in danger.

The trailer shows that Morgan will be rushing to take the bloody Savannah to the hospital. Because of the turn of events, Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) will not allow Morgan to join the team in finding out who is after him and who was responsible for shooting Savannah. But Morgan does not want to wait in the sidelines, and he is seen snooping around to catch the criminal.

However, the trailer also shows that Morgan has possibly fallen into a trap. Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and the team will find out that Morgan is being closely monitored by the criminal, based on the surveillance screens that he discovers. Morgan will be talking to somebody on the phone with a gun in his hand. Penelope will also receive a call but will be shocked after hearing a gun shot on the other line.

Vangsness talked about the script for the upcoming episode, which she co-wrote with showrunner Erica Messer. According to the actress, viewers will feel a little hope for Morgan's character in the first part of the episode, then things will turn to frustration before the end of the show.

"In terms of the resolution of things, certain things wrap up very quickly in one part of the show, and then all of a sudden the last part of the show wraps up other stuff," Vangsness said, via TVLine. "I know some people who have shed copious amounts of tears watching it, I can say that."

The episode, airing on Wednesday, March 23, was directed by cast member Matthew Gray Gubler.
