Bandai Namco, the developer and publisher of the upcoming action role-playing game (RPG) "Code Vein," confirmed that the game will have multiplayer and will allow players to request for help.

Bandai Namco announced the news in a Twitter post on Feb. 16.

The announcement was made following a report published in an issue of Weekly Famitsu which was broadcasted online by Gematsu on Feb. 13. According to the report, "Code Vein" will have multiplayer wherein players alongside their non-player character (NPC) partner can work with other players to clear dungeons. The report also said that the upcoming game will feature a distress signal — players can summon another player who has met certain conditions when they are in need of help. The rescue player can also travel alongside the distressed player's party. The distressed player's NPC partner's gift will also affect the rescue player.

Aside from the distress signal multiplayer, players can also create and save single emotions which combine gesture, stamps and voices that they can use to communicate tactical intentions and player situations. The report also introduced two new game characters — Karen and Chris Silva. Karen (voiced by Yumi Hara) is a collaborator to the QUEEN Project and Louis' older sister while Chris Silva is a Queen Project test subject and Gregorio Silva's daughter. According to Comic Book, Queen Project is the name for the series of experiments conducted by the blood-thirsty characters of the game. Moreover, blood will be a central concept as Blood Veils will be used to drain enemies, to enhance abilities, and to utilize NPC Partner's gifts.

Bandai Namco has yet to announce the official release date of "Code Vein." Nonetheless, the upcoming action RPG is scheduled to release this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and personal computer (PC).
