Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will introduce his celebrity friend in the all-new episodes of "Chicago Fire" for season 5.

TVLine reported that "Grey's Anatomy" alum Scott Elrod has been cast to portray the recurring role of a "lifestyle" celebrity named Travis Brenner.

According to the character description, Travis is "drop-dead gorgeous, with a million Instagram followers to boot." The report also mentioned that Travis and Severide first met each other when the lieutenant attended to a fire report. The meeting opened up a close friendship between the two playboys, and Severide became highly interested in the lifestyle celebrity's group of friends.

Executive producer Derek Haas described Travis and Severide's relationship in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. According to Haas, Travis is the type of guy who loves to be seen in parties. He is also more than willing to welcome his new friend to all of his adventures.

"He feels like Severide is a real guy, not the usual hanger-on, entourage type of guy that he's used to hanging out with, so he's attracted to Severide in that way. He's going to cause some mischief over the first three episodes," the executive producer added.

Meanwhile, co-executive producer Matt Olmstead also told TVLine that Firehouse 51 could lose one of its members in season 5.

"The main battle going into next season is [between Jimmy and Boden], and one of them isn't going to be around [after it]," Olmstead said. This means that Jimmy (Steven McQueen) is still holding Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) responsible for his brother's death.

"Chicago Fire" season 5 will also air the 100th episode of the series. Speculations claim that the special episode could feature the wedding between Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund).

The premiere episode of "Chicago Fire" season 5 will air on NBC on Oct. 11.
