NBA trade rumors: Jimmy Butler heads to Minnesota?

Jimmy Butler of Chicago Bulls has a lot of suitors for this off-season's free agency, according to the latest NBA trade rumors. However, it appears that the Minnesota Timberwolves are the most adamant to steal away the shooting guard.

The Timberwolves are prepared to give up their No. 5 overall pick for Butler, proving that they badly want the 26-year-old superstar from Chicago on their side next season.

Needless to say, the Bulls will be willing to unleash the swingman knowing it will be worth it. The team obviously wants this NBA trade to be a lucrative deal for them as well by nabbing a player of Butler's caliber.

According to ESPN, the No. 5 overall pick won't be enough for the Bulls to let go of its star player, but the publication believes that the franchise has trade assets that will eventually sway Butler's team.

However, making the deal even harder for the Timberwolves is the interest of the Boston Celtics with Butler. The green and white team has the No. 3 overall pick for this year and they will be among the most active teams during the NBA trade.

Although there's growing interest for Butler, there's another NBA trade rumor going around claiming that Chicago wants to trade off Derrick Rose instead of Butler.

According to Basketball Insiders, the 27-year-old point guard is no longer in his prime. He even missed half of the games in the past four seasons.

Despite his desire to play ball until the end proudly donning his Bulls jersey, the team may not be as keen about it as he is. Rose is approaching the last year of his contract with Chicago, but rumor has it he might not be signed for another contract.

Meanwhile, there are also NBA trade rumors about Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah using the NBA trades as a way out of the team. If that will be the case, the Bulls will definitely have a lot of rebuilding to do in the upcoming offseason.
