'Call the Midwife' season 5 finale spoilers, plot rumors: Dr. Turner attempts to fix the problem he caused

Everyone will be busy at the Nonnatus House in the season finale of "Call the Midwife" season 5.

Based on the synopsis shared by Cartermatt for the final episode of the current season, Dr. Patrick Turner (Stephen McGann) will realize that his previous prescriptions caused the sudden increase of infant limb deformities in Poplar. This will prompt him to act as fast as he can so he can reverse the situation.

Meanwhile, the nuns at the Nonnatus House will be in a chaotic state after an unexpected tragedy happens. But while this is happening, Sister Evangelina's (Pam Ferris) health problems will continue as she gets back to work. This could mean that her recent stroke damaged her body.

The episode will also feature how Poplar's matriarch Tessie Anselm (Rosie Cavaliero) will try to accept the fact that her grandchild was conceived out of wedlock. Since the series is set during the time when pregnancies out of marriage are considered taboo, it will be hard for Tessie to understand that her child is bearing a child before marrying. But things will change when the baby comes out while the couple is still celebrating their wedding reception.

The episode stars Jenny Agutter as Sister Julienne, Linda Bassett as Nurse Phyllis Crane, Judy Parfitt as Sister Monica Joan, Helen George as Nurse Trixie Franklin, Bryony Hanna as Sister Mary Cynthia, and Laura Main as Shelagh Turner.

The "Call the Midwife" season 5 finale will air on Sunday, March 6, on BBC 1.

Meanwhile, the nuns and nurses from Poplar's Nonnatus House will return for a sixth season after the current one.

"I am delighted that the BBC has decided to commission series six of 'Call The Midwife' even before we have gone on air with series five!" executive produce Pippa Harris announced, as reported by Radio Times in December. "The ongoing success of 'Call The Midwife' is down to the incredible writing skills of Heidi Thomas and the talent and dedication of our wonderful cast and crew. I hope the audience will enjoy watching series five, which I firmly believe is our strongest yet."

The premiere date of "Call the Midwife" season 6 has yet to be revealed.
