Activision has recently released the Variety Map Pack for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered," but most fans are giving it a negative feedback.

The remastered "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" played a huge part in increasing the sales for "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." However, players seem to have an issue with the newly released downloadable content (DLC) map pack for "Modern Warfare Remastered," particularly with its price.

As noted by VG247, the new map pack for "Modern Warfare Remastered" is way more expensive than when Activision first released the expansion years ago. The map pack includes 10 rare supply drops and four upgraded maps. Since the supply drops alone are already worth $20, getting four more maps (Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek, and Killhouse) with it for $15 suggests value for money. Unfortunately, comments on the Activision blog are not that good. A majority of Reddit users also see the expansion as an excuse for the publisher to rake in more money from players.

Additionally, some fans claimed Activision was making a huge mistake by not releasing "Modern Warfare Remastered" as a standalone title. Many were upset upon discovering the remastered version did not contain all of the original game's DLC as part of the entire package. The issue led gamers to compare Activision's DLC practices with that of Nintendo's. "Mario Kart 8: Deluxe," Nintendo's upcoming re-release, improved the overall graphics and introduced the new battle mode. Fans then asked why Activision could not do the same with its latest remaster.

Reports point out that this is not the first time Activision encountered negative fan feedback due to the price of a DLC. The publisher previously offered an expansion for "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" called "Legacy Edition," which retailed for $80. It was the only way for users to purchase the game, so many were forced to shell out big bucks to get it.

Activision has yet to release a statement on the DLC price issue for "Modern Warfare."
