'Brooklyn Nets' Jeremy Lin news 2018: Knee rehab going well; episode 1 of 'Life of Lin' series released

Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin said his knee rehabilitation at Fortius Sport and Health in Vancouver is going well and that he has been told that he is expected to fully recover. Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated released on Jan. 30 the first episode of "Life of Lin" which will be all about his road to recovery.

According to ESPN, Lin will not let his knee injury stop him from doing his attacking style which he is fond of. He also said that while he will not avoid physical contacts when driving the ball to the basket, he will make sure that his movement and landings are safe.

He also talked about how he does not talk to other players who have had the same ruptured patella tendon injury as him because he wanted to focus on his own recovery. He said players' bodies after injuries fare differently, and that all players have their own ways of recovering. Furthermore, Lin believes that he will be a new and a better version of himself once he completely recuperates.

On Jan. 30, Sports Illustrated released the first episode of a series that features Lin's recovery titled "Life of Lin." The first episode, "Refocused," opened with a preview of what happened when he was injured in October last year. Lin talked about how he felt as if he bumped knees with someone mid-air but found none when he viewed the replay. He also opened about his love for his family, particularly how he will not be the Jeremy Lin fans love if it were not for his family.

"Refocused" introduced Lin's family to the fans. He shared a meal with his 93-year-old grandmother and his brother's family. Lin also talked about how grateful he is for the massive support he has received from his fans and how his injury became a unifying force for the whole basketball community. In the end, Lin said he does not want chasing championships to be his life goal. Rather, he wants to have a deeper sense of purpose — he wants to promote the values he believes in and share the Gospel message with people.
