Per Otakukart, the upcoming episode 54 of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will be heavily based on "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" released in 2015. The previous episodes have been focused on the preparations of the young Genins for the Chunin exams, although there is another angle in the new story arc that the viewers have yet to see. The arrival of Sasuke in Konoha will introduce a new threat, and he wanted to discuss this matter with the Seventh Hokage.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 54 is titled "Sasuke and Boruto," and the synopsis reveals that Sasuke will show up in the Uzumaki household on the night of Himawari's birthday. To give a brief recap, Naruto was supposed to attend his daughter's birthday, but he could not be present on the celebration physically as he has some important tasks to do as Hokage. Naruto will send a shadow clone to Himawari's birthday bash.

In episode 54, Boruto will learn that his father has sent in a shadow clone once again to attend an important family event, much to his disappointment. From here, Boruto will hate his father even more. Suddenly, someone will knock on the Uzumaki's door, and Boruto will assume that the person by the doorstep is his father. He will plan to meet his own father with a punch, but he will be shocked to see that the person is none other than Sasuke, Naruto's infamous rival.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 54 will see Sasuke being followed by Boruto. Naruto's son would like Sasuke to be his trainer, as he wishes to become more powerful than the Seventh Hokage. Sasuke will be reluctant to teach Boruto, but then he will realize that Boruto is much like his father, who is very much determined.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 54 will air in Japan on April 19.
