A new character will be introduced when "Blindspot" returns after the winter hiatus.

Entertainment Weekly dropped the news about the entry of "Hannibal" alum Aaron Abrams to NBC's groundbreaking crime drama thriller.

Abrams used to portray the role of the crime scene investigator named Special Agent Brian Zeller in the now-defunct psychological crime drama. This time, the 37-year-old Canadian actor will play the character of an ambitious Assistant U.S Attorney. It was also revealed that his character will be linked to Agent Natasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza).

The actor was also seen in other crime procedural dramas, including "Rookie Blue," "NCIS: Los Angeles," as well as "CSI: Cyber."

Towars the end of the first half of season 1, Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) saw her self-made video where she states that it was her own idea to wipe out her own memory.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series showrunner Martin Gero revealed that the video changed everything that she knows about her identity.

"I was excited and nervous about it, because it changes the show in a really fundamental way," Gero explained. "But, as we're shooting episode 13 and we're just starting to break episode 17, it really deepens the show in a way that is incredibly exciting."

Jane also discovered that the person who saved her life was Oscar (Francois Arnaud). According to Gero, Oscar will play a very significant role in the second half of the season because he will help her remember why she wanted her memory to be wiped out. The series showrunner revealed that Oscar's entry to the scene will result in a complicated love triangle between him, Jane, and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton).

In addition, Gero revealed that they already know how the first season of "Blindspot" will end.

"Blindspot" returns on Monday, Feb. 29, on NBC.
