Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani wedding rumors: Christmas special proposal is fake

"The Voice" colleagues, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, have been seeing other for the past two years. As such, it is no surprise that many wedding and pregnancy rumours have been hounding the couple. However, one recent rumour about Shelton proposing to Stefani before the year ends is actually false.

The rumour was started by Hollywood Life, who claims to have sources for their exclusive. The speculation originally revolved around how Shelton would get down on his knee and propose to Stefani during her Christmas Special where she would be promoting her Christmas album.

However, Gossip Cop has shut down the rumours by examining the statements of the Hollywood Life informant. In the original article, the source claimed that the couple was ready to take the next step in their relationship, which is obviously marriage. However, that same source contradicted this by stating that both "The Voice" judges would not take marriage seriously anymore after having marriages already in the past.

Therefore, as much as people want it to happen, they will just have to wait for Shelton to make his move in his own time. Fans should also refer to official announcements from either Shelton or Stefani when it comes to marriage. So far, neither one has ever mentioned anything about marriage. The last time the idea was brought up between the two was during an interview with another "The Voice" colleague Adam Levine, as per Heavy.com.

Previously the couple made headlines when they were reportedly trying for a baby. Although Stefani already has three kids with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, the 48-year-old songstress was supposedly open to the idea of more children as Shelton has always wanted one. He did not have any children in his previous marriage to Miranda Lambert. At the moment, he is enjoying being a father-figure to Stefani's sons, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
