BlackBerry Classic photos and specs leaked: Classic features maintained

BlackBerry Q10

New leaked photos of BlackBerry Classic have been making the rounds in the rumor mill once again, showing that the upcoming device will look a lot like the previous models from the Canadian tech giant.

The latest photos of the so-called BlackBerry Classic posted on N4BB, earlier dubbed as the BlackBerry Q20, looks exactly like the earlier models such as the BlackBerry Curve, the BlackBerry Bold, and the BlackBerry Q10 smartphones that the company released in the past years.

It still has the same type of physical QWERTY keyboard and the five-button navigation keys from the older phones.

However, the new BlackBerry device does not show any improvements from its recent predecessor, the BlackBerry Z10. It still carries the same MSM8960 dual-core 1.5GHz CPU with 2GB RAM, as well as the same 8-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary cameras that the Z10 has.

If the leaked specs for the upcoming BlackBerry Classic turns out to be true, it means that the device will come out with a 3.46-inch touchscreen display with 720 x 720 pixel resolution, and will run using a dual-core Snapdragon CPU with 1.56 GHz clock speed and 16 GB internal memory that can be expanded using a microSD card. It will also have 2 GB RAM.

The 8-megapixel primary camera will have different capabilities such as auto-focus, backside illumination, 5 element F2.2 lens, flash, continuous & touch to focus, image & video stabilization, 5x digital zoom, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, 2DOF video stabilization.

Aside from the BlackBerry physical keyboard, the new BlackBerry Classic will also have the iconic Optical Trackpad with the Escape Key located in its right portion, while the Menu Key will be placed in the left. Yet, the new TrackPad reportedly does not illuminate when touched.

The alleged BlackBerry Classic will come in two colors, which is black and white. According to reports, the upcoming device will be out sometime in November.
