Beyoncé's mother Tina says her daughters are 'my rock' and the best gifts God could have given her

Tina Knowles-Lawson, mother of singer Beyoncé, says out of all the blessings she has received from God, she considers her two daughters—Beyoncé and Solange—as the best ones.

"My children are my rock, and they are," she told ABC 13 in a recent interview. "It's just been the best gift God could have given me."

When her ex-husband Matthew Knowles cheated on her several years back, her daughters were the ones who helped her get over the heartbreak.

"I remember my first little pity party and I called them crying and they all came," Knowles-Lawson recalled. "We had a slumber party, we watched old movies all night and ate ice cream — it was very healing."

Now, it seems like her daughter Beyoncé is dealing with her husband Jay-Z's infidelity herself. When Beyoncé's latest album "Lemonade" was released, rumors started circulating that it was about Jay-Z's alleged cheating.

However, Lawson-Knowles said fans have to scratch deeper into the surface to figure out what "Lemonade" truly stands for.

"People make it all about the cheating and betrayal and, yes, that's a part of it because that is something you have to heal from," she said. "If you really listen to the poetry it is one of hope and redemption and hopefully that can be healing for people."

Lawson-Knowles said "Lemonade" actually comes straight from Beyoncé's heart, adding that her daughter hopes it would bridge gaps and help people heal from relationships that have gone south.

"It could be about anyone's marriage," she said. "I think that everybody at one time or another has been betrayed and lied to and it's about the pain—and it's about the healing process—and it's about how do you get past that and move on."
