Fans of AMC's groundbreaking spin-off series "Better Call Saul" have been waiting to get the latest news about the show's return on the small screen for its sophomore season.

While there are no details yet pertaining to the plot of "Better Call Saul" season 2, Den of Geek released two images of the upcoming season. One of the images shows actor Bob Odenkirk as he portrays the role of Jimmy McGill, who was also known as Saul Goodman in the original AMC drama "Breaking Bad." In the photo, Jimmy looks worried while being intimidated by two unidentified men. However, the photo did not include any other information when it was released.

The other image is a random photo of series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, as they seemed to be observing an ongoing shoot for one of the episodes of "Better Call Saul" season 2. Again, there are no added details about the photo other than the creators looking amused at whatever they are looking at during that moment.

"Better Call Saul" paved the way for its lead actor to get more recognition compared to his stint in the "Breaking Bad" series. In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Odenkirk confessed that he never expected to see the success of his character, after being tasked to portray the role for just a limited number of episodes.

"I think it's all due to [show creators] Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The fact that those guys saw — and you really have to ask them what they saw that made them think we could get here. And they've said that from the first episode I was on that there was more to this character, and they were curious about what that more is, and what his story was," the actor said.

Odenkirk also predicted that Jimmy will later on become a bigger character compared to Saul, saying: "I think the crazy thing is that ultimately Jimmy McGill is going to be a much more remembered character than Saul Goodman as time goes by. And then when you see Saul Goodman in about a year or two, after we've told this story for a while, you're not going to see Saul Goodman anymore, you're going to see Jimmy McGill playing Saul Goodman."

"Better Call Saul" season 2 is expected to come out sometime in the early months of 2016.
