'Better Call Saul' plot spoilers: Trailer shows Saul Goodman in handcuffs

Bob Odenkirk plays the role of Jimmy McGill before he became Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman in the upcoming spin-off series titled Better Call Saul. Facebook

Saul Goodman will grace TV screens once again with his iconic "It's showtime, folks!" line, as featured in the extended teaser released for the upcoming "Breaking Bad" spinoff series titled "Better Call Saul."

Set six years before the events shown in the original Contemporary Western crime drama "Breaking Bad," which focused on the lives of Walter (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul), "Better Call Saul" features the cunning lawyer Saul still called by his original name, James "Jimmy" McGill. Even then, the dodgy attorney, played by actor Bob Odenkirk, is already showing signs of his crooked, over-the-top persona.

The extended video trailer shows Jimmy's ordeals before Walter finds him in his office in a strip mall in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is first seen declaring his profession as a lawyer after being handcuffed in a desert by the police. His courtroom battles are also shown, particularly during one of the cases wherein his client is a face tattooed criminal who promises the judge, "Your honor, I will never do it again."

Jimmy is also seen facing the board of Hamlin Hamlin and McGill, presumably the lawfirm where his older brother Chuck, played by Michael McKean, is a partner. Viewers see Jimmy trying to talk to the board about Chuck's predicaments without his brother's consent.

Aside from Odenkirk, actor Jonathan Banks also reprises his role as Saul's private investigator Mike Ehrmantraut from the original series. Other characters include Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin, Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, and Michael Mando as Nacho Varga, among others.

Meanwhile, series creators Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan already quashed speculations that Walt and Jesse will also appear in "Better Call Saul." In an interview during an event held by the Television Critics Association, Gilligan stated that though they would love to feature the beloved "Breaking Bad" characters in the new spin-off, it might not happen anytime soon.

"Better Call Saul" will air its two-part premiere episode on Feb. 8 and 9 on AMC.
