A number of iOS 8 games are released every day, but each month, several games stand out above the rest. These games, regardless of the genre or graphics, are considered as the top games during the time of their release.

Some of the most notable games that came out in January include:

"Adventure Time Game Wizard"

Since "Adventure Time" is currently a fan-favorite cartoon series, it is not surprising to see its mobile game version soar high in the popularity list. The recently released game allows a player to build and customize their own game world then let others see it in its dedicated online community. The game can be purchased in Apple Store for $5.

"The LEGO Movie Video Game"

After its success in the box office, LEGO once again features the LEGO characters of the movie in a mobile video game format. It features over 90 characters from the film that course through the game's 45 levels to face their foes in different maps like Flatbush Gulch and Cloud Cuckoo Land. The game can be downloaded in Apple Store for only $4.99.

"Yak Dash: Horn of Glory"

This popular side-scrolling game puts the players "behind the wheel" of a yak. Based on traditional yak racing, "Yak Dash: Horns of Glory" makes the players race against others in different parts of the world. The yaks can also be customized so that the one used by the player can stand out. This game can be purchased for just $1.99.

"Dragon Quest V"

This is meant for RPG lovers who want to bring their favorite game anywhere they go. "Dragon Quest V" for iOS 8 was made to be a direct port of the original role playing game but designed specifically for mobile devices. This game needs 179 MB of free space in the device, and can be downloaded for $14.99.
