After revealing that Robin will play a minor part in Warner Bros.' upcoming superhero film, "Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice," fans of both the movie and carton novels are excited to find out who will portray the role of the Caped Crusader's trusted ally. Warner has kept mum about this, but now, reports claim that Robin's role was given to Eli Snyder, the son of film director Zack Snyder.

Heroic Hollywood first published the speculations about the young Snyder's participation in the movie. The 6-foot-tall Maranatha High School quarterback, who already played bit roles in his father's past films like "Watchmen" and "300," was reportedly tapped to do several scenes with The Joker, which could lead to the character's death.

Eli's father also posted a photo that may have confirmed his son's participation in the movie. In his private Instagram account, the "Batman v. Superman" director posted a photo of himself and his son with the caption "Boy wonder?" which is often used to refer to Robin. The film's cinematographer Clay Enos reposted the photo on his own account to let everyone see.

If rumors turn out to be true, then the young Snyder will portray the role of Jason Todd, the second person who took over the role of Batman's sidekick after the original Robin, Dick Grayson, was featured in "The New Teen Titan" series.

In the trailer for the upcoming film, Batman (Ben Affleck) is seen looking at the suit of his young crime-busting partner, who reportedly died in the hands of his greatest enemy, The Joker (Jared Leto). Robin's costume is defaced with the words "HAHAHA! Joke's on you Batman." Although there is no official information that will explain the scene, the DC Comics version says that Batman blames himself for Robin's untimely end because he was not able to save his friend from The Joker.

Warner and Snyder have yet to confirm the validity of these reports.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will premiere on March 25, 2016.
