'Batman v Superman' action figure lineup hints at Lex Luthor transformation; synopsis for film released

With a couple of months left before the release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," more spoilers come to light to expose more about the upcoming movie's secrets. This time around, the spoiling was done by upcoming action figure lines based on the highly anticipated comic book adaptation.

Just recently, a three-pack action figure set was unveiled. It includes Batman and Superman as how the trailers and promos show them. But such is not the case for Lex Luthor, who wore a huge built-up green and purple armor with a Luthor logo-embedded blaster for an arm, making him look much more stalwart than Batman.

That version of the character is apparently called Mega-Armored Lex Luthor and viewers may see the villain donning the garb in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." IGN points out that the green parts of the suit look like Kryptonite, hinting that he has plans to take down the Man of Steel himself.

Notably, Lex Luthor is yet to be shown that way in trailers or even promotional photos. Jesse Eisenberg's character has only been seen donning his brown, curly locks and his printed button down and cardigan. It is unclear if Warner Bros. has plans to show off this version of him before the movie comes out, assuming he will really be putting on the powerful-looking armor.

As the release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" nears, a synopsis for the movie was released (via Comic Book Movie). The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" synopsis tells that the feud between the titular heroes will have to be held off so they can take on a bigger menace together.

The synopsis reads:

Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth.

As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman's wrongs. The rivalry between them is furious, fueled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be out March 25, 2016.
