'The Bachelor' 2015 rumors: Kaitlyn Bristowe's suitor Ben Higgins to return as the next Bachelor?

Is Ben Higgins for The Bachelorette season 11 the next Bachelor? ABC

Kaitlyn Bristowe might have broken his heart after giving the last two roses to other men in the 10th episode of "The Bachelorette 2015," but ABC might be giving Ben Higgins another shot at finding true love.

E! News learned from several sources that the 26-year-old software salesman has been chosen to take over Chris Soules' spot as "The Bachelor" for season 20. According to the sources, Ben H is currently in talks with the ABC execs to finalize his stint in the long-running dating reality series.

When Ben H and the other contestants talked to E! during the taping of the "Men Tell All" special episode of "The Bachelorette" this season, he mentioned his reservations regarding the possibility of going through another televised journey to find the woman of his dreams.

"I had a great experience on the show, from beginning to end," he said. "Like I've said it, I have a good life, though. I have a job that is steady, I have a house in Denver and I have a great family...I think if the offer was on the table, there'd be things I'd have to consider and seriously consider those things."

He also said his hopes of finding true love because of the show went up after meeting Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter from "The Bachelorette" season 1. The couple got married in December 2003 after Trista gave Ryan her final rose in January that year. They currently live in Colorado with their two kids.

A lot of fans will definitely be delighted if the rumors about Ben H's casting as the next Bachelor are true. When he was eliminated Monday, even the show's alums expressed their dismay on Twitter.

One of them is season 19's runner-up Becca Tilley, who tweeted: "If @benhiggi is the next bachelor- they better cast the best of the best for that guy! Wow. What a gem!"

Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky from season 6 is also rooting for the Denver, Colorado native, who said, "Watching Ben kiss Kaitlyn is basically just a preview for the next season of #TheBachelor. He'll totally be the Bachelor, right?"

However, ABC is not expecting to make any casting announcements for the next season of "The Bachelor" anytime soon. The network normally talks about the cast of the upcoming season after the current one is finally done.

At the moment, Bachelorette Kaitlyn is still deciding between her last two suitors: Shawn Booth, a 28-year-old personal trainer, or Nick Viall, a returning "The Bachelorette" contestant from Andi Dorfman's season.

Fans can expect to hear the casting announcement for the 20th season of "The Bachelor" soon.
