After several weeks of speculations and rumors, Chris Soules of "The Bachelor" season 19 and his final rose pick Whitney Bischoff finally broke their silence and confirmed that their engagement is now officially over. The couple released an official statement last week through a representative, saying:

Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement. They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey."

People who have been interacting with the couple from the start expressed their thoughts about the break-up. Chris Harrison, the long-time host of "The Bachelor," stated that he is very sorry to find out that Chris and Whitney ended their engagement, but he wishes them both well. Becca Tilley, the runner-up for Chris' final rose, also said her piece after the news broke out.

"I think coming out of that bubble it's a struggle no matter the situation. I don't think you can ever expect it because you want it to work out," Tilley shared to PEOPLE.

She also said that despite the fact that Chris chose Whitney over her, she still treats Whitney as a friend and believes that he is a good guy. She also mentioned that she would have wanted them to have a happy ending.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old fertility nurse broke her silence last week on her Instagram account, posting a video of a little girl with a caption that expresses her gratitude for the outpouring of support during her trying time.

Chris also said his piece about the break-up for the first time on Twitter, saying: "I can't thank you all enough for the kind messages over the past few days. This has been really tough and your support means a lot to me."
