While "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has yet to commercially hit the American theaters on May 5, it has already started getting the nod of many of its fans in countries where it is already shown. Despite the movie's potential to rake in hundreds of million dollars for Marvel Studios, it remains to be seen whether there will be another sequel. What is certain, though, is that fans can expect to see the Guardians in another Marvel movie, "Avengers: Infinity War," which will happen four years after the events of the current blockbuster.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has already arrived in some theaters ahead of its commercial release in North America. While some critics say that the movie is not as amusing as the first, as the sequel focuses more on the bickering among the characters, many agree that, on the whole, it is still an entertaining movie that is worth one's cash.

With "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" poised to break its predecessor's box-office record of $773,328,629 worldwide gross, there is no guarantee that Marvel Studios will make another sequel. However, it is already confirmed that the Guardians are appearing in the highly anticipated "Avengers: Infinity War" movie, which Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige has confirmed to happen four years after the events in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Within the four-year gap between the two movies, a lot of things have already happened on earth, including the rise of Ultron featured in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" shown in 2015, the Sokovia Accords/superhero civil war featured in "Captain America: Civil War" last year, and the upcoming Marvel movies "Thor: Ragnarok," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," and "Black Panther." Because of this, it goes without saying that the Guardians will have changed to a certain extent when they return to the big screen next year.

"They will have evolved slightly, in some recognizable ways. But really they'll be the Guardians and dealing with the s**t storm they have to deal with," Feige revealed in an interview with Cinema Blend during the press day for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" held in Los Angeles last week.

How different will the Guardians be when they appear in "Avengers: Infinity War?"

The only way to confirm is to see "Avengers: Infinity War" when it arrives on May 4, 2018.
