While it is already a known fact that "Avengers: Infinity War" will feature Thanos (Josh Brolin) as its big bad, no one outside the movie can be certain whether he will succeed in his mission of gathering all the Infinity Stones that will make him further powerful. However, according to recent reports, it is likely for the Avengers to fail in stopping the villain in his quest.

Beyond the shadow of doubt, "Avengers: Infinity War" is one of the most highly anticipated movies ever, despite the fact that it is not slated to arrive a year from now. However, if recent reports are to be believed, the movie may feature Thanos succeeding in his mission of gathering the Infinity Stones, which means that he will be even more powerful and no amount of combined forces of the Marvel superheroes can stop him. This may even mean that some of the beloved Marvel characters may finally meet their demise in the hands of the powerful villain.

There have been a lot of rumors claiming that some members of the Avengers will die in "Avengers: Infinity War," including Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Reportedly, Marvel Studios is killing off some of its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) characters so that it can bring more of its superhero characters from the comic books into the movies. As it is more believable for some superheroes to die in the hands of Thanos if he has only become more powerful by completing all the Infinity Stones, the movie may, indeed, feature him succeeding in his quest.

Likewise, it is suspected that "Avengers: Infinity War" will feature Hela (Cate Blanchett) in the movie after her appearance in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok." Allegedly, the character will be the movie's version of Lady Death, who, in the comic books, serves as Thanos' motivation to wipe out the universe. As Thanos needs all the Infinity Stones to eradicate the universe, it is, indeed, likely for him to succeed in gathering all six of them so he can carry out his plan and impress Hela.

Will Thanos really succeed in gathering all the Infinity Stones? Will Iron Man really be one of those to die once Thanos succeeds in his quest?

Find out when "Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
